Lately, this little bug has been calling me "Mimi" it's so precious I swear my heart almost explodes.
I just celebrated my second Mother's Day as a mommy. Mommy is such a special title. So full of hope and promise and responsibility. God has given me this little bundle to guide and love and teach. What a huge and weighty blessing.
I've been listening to some really great parenting classes the last few weeks and several things have stood out to me. (You can find the parenting classes through the Village Church, linked here.)
1. I will answer to God alone for the choices I make while parenting. Gulp. Although while this is uh...terrifying...it's also comforting. I don't have to fear the opinions of others.
2. I need to parent with the "long term" in mind. It's so second-nature to make a decision that makes this moment easier, instead of thinking about what is best for my child and family for our future.
3. I only have 9 more years. Say what? No, it's true. Studies have shown that a child's moral framework is set by 10-11 years old.
4. God has equipped me with everything I need to be a parent...because I AM one.
5. This child is an unbelievable blessing.
There's so much more. These classes were chock full of helpful ideas. I definitely recommend them! And they were funny.

Pictures by my wonderfully talented little sister!!! Love you Kati!
