It's official! I am now 27 years (plus 5 days) old. I can hardly believe it. Being 25 seemed cool. 26 was close enough to 25 that it was still cool. But 27 is close to 30...which I guess is alright too :)

It seems like I always re-evaluate life on my birthday, but this year, the I started that process about a week early and I started making a few changes that I hope to continue through the next year (and beyond!) of my life. I know that God is continually refining me, and I want to be a (very) active participant in that process.

1. First and foremost, I have recognized my NEED to be in the Word every single day. That is my first goal. That need brought me to the other changes I've been making.

2. I've started to shower (mostly) at night. That way in the morning, I have fewer excuses. If I don't have to spend as much time getting ready, I can spend more time in the Word. It's been going ok so far! It hasn't been a perfect system yet, but along with that I've decided that I don't necessarily need to shower daily. This is huge for me. (TMI? meh) I have been a consistent every-single-day shower-er since before I can remember. I feel like the stinky kid, but my skin is better than it has been in years. Woo woo!

3. I want to learn to focus my mind and meditate on God's Word and character. Which brings me to change 4....

4. I'm sticking to a yoga program that includes meditation and focus exercises. I want to be stronger physically and metally. My brain lately is a jumble of craziness, and I desire more stillness and focus. The Bible makes it pretty clear that meditating on the Word brings only good things. Therefore, I'm going to try my darndest. If you're looking for fantastic FREE online yoga, check out doyogawithme.com (dorky name, fantastic classes).
