It's beginning to look a little like Christmas!

Whew. It's been a crazy little while. We went to St. Louis area for Thanksgiving and got to spend lots of time with family and friends. Lizzy did fantastic- truthfully, I'm pretty sure she was the best behaved of anyone- child or adult. Ha!
We got back on Sunday and decided to decorate for the season. We bought a fresh tree (from Menards...we're a little cheap...sorry) and brought it home. The trees must have been packed in straw, because I've been pulling straw out of my tree ever since. It's all over the floor, but the tree smells and looks wonderful. Definitely our best yet.

We found a few things in storage that we forgot we had like that fun little bunting. We made that for our tree when we lived in the loft downtown, but it had been in storage for almost 2 years! It brought back some great memories. My husband is such a good sport. He sat with me and cut out triangles and hot glued them to twine for hours. How I got so blessed I'll never know.

Lizzy loves the tree. I brought her out to see first thing this morning and she stared at it with huge eyes and said "Da da da da" over and over. I've been praying that we can really teach her about why Christmas is important and wonderful. I am constantly amazed by an all-powerful God who would limit himself to come as a helpless baby to save me. Isn't that really the magic of Christmas? That Christ chose to become like me so that he could redeem me? Thank you, Lord!

Jimi wants to hang Christmas lights literally everywhere in the house. I do admit, they're magical. I'm typing this by Christmas light right now. I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas season and that you are in awe of Christ and his sacrifice for you.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given
And the government will be upon His shoulder
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
